Carlos Corberán begins his tenure as Valencia CF Head Coach
The new Valencia CF coach has already started work at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna
Pepelu is an experienced addition to the Valencia CF squad for the 2023/24 season. Born José Luis García Vayá (Dénia, Alicante – August 11th, 1998), he has already played LaLiga football during his time at Levante UD.
After starting out in his native Dénia, Pepelu moved to the Levante UD academy and played for their second team, before two loan spells in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. During his time at Tondela, he played 33 games, scoring 2 goals and providing 4 assists. He would have a second year in Portugal at Vitoria Guimarães.
Returning from loan, Pepelu established himself in the Levante UD first team in the 2020/21 season and played 30 games in LaLiga - most of them as a starter.
Last year, Levante UD fought for promotion from the Segunda División. Throughout the campaign, he was a key player, featuring ina total of 47 games between the regular season, promotion playoffs and Copa del Rey.
The midfielder has also turned out for Spain at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level.
Pepelu now faces a return to LaLiga EA Sports with Valencia CF, with the intention of contributing and continuing to grow on Rubén Baraja's team.
